DC Ranch is a master-planned golf community in North Scottsdale (zip code 85255). It was first registered as a cattle ranch in 1885 and was the fabled west of cowboys and cattle drives until about 1950. DC Ranch opened as a gated master planned private golf community of over 3,000 homes in 1997, and home sites are still available to build on today. Of the 8,821 total acres of the development, over 4,600 are protected as part of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. The neighborhoods are divided into four villages, Desert Camp Village and Country Club Village (the two original villages), Desert Parks Village, and the ultra-exclusive Silverleaf Village with some of the valley's priciest real estate. Housing styles include apartments, condominiums, townhouses, single family homes, and the mountainside estates of Silverleaf. All but one neighborhood is gated or guarded. All communities require rental terms of at least 6 months, so short term rentals are not permitted. Amenities include 47 parks located at the heart of each neighborhood and interconnected by over 50 miles of landscaped trails and paths. There are two community centers. Desert Camp offers outdoor heated recreational and tot pools, lighted tennis courts, basketball & pickleball courts, a fitness center, two pool ramadas, and a playground while The Homestead has a splashpad, playground, basketball courts, event facilities, a commercial kitchen, and a community theater. The Country Club at DC Ranch offers a private 18-hole golf course designed by Tom Lehman and John Fought, as well as a pool, tennis, a fitness center, and an expansive clubhouse. Golf, Sports, and Social memberships are available for the country club. The Silverleaf Club offers a private 18-hole golf course designed by Tom Weiskopf, and a 50,000 SF clubhouse with world class pools, spas, and dining. Golf and clubhouse memberships are available for Silverleaf Club. DC Ranch is in North Scottsdale just northeast of Loop 101 on Pima Rd. It is 5 minutes from the Loop 101 and includes 2 nearby shopping & dining centers at Market Street and DC Ranch Crossing.
